ABOUT

Noora Juppi is a pole dance artist based in Helsinki, Finland, whose work lies somewhere between dance and circus. She graduated as a circus artist from Salpaus Further Education, and has since expanded her professional expertise through studies in choreography, contemporary dance, and dance pedagogy. Her work is characterized by a deep and curious relationship with the medium and the goal of developing pole dancing as a performing art form.

Noora has performed in various circus productions, including works by WHS-Company and Lumo Company. Since 2021, she has focused on developing her artistic practice, creating both site-specific and theater-based works rooted in pole dance. In her works, she has explored themes such as femininity, meditative experiences, and human connection to nature. Her work has been presented in traditional theater settings as well as in urban and natural environments. Her recent interests focus particularly on the materiality of the body and its pathways toward the non-human. Alongside her artistic work, she occasionally teaches pole dance and creates commissioned choreographies for others.
